In large quantities oil-bearing emulsion wate water, as from steel an dmachinery industries, which contain mineral oil, surface active agent, suspended solids and water. The most difficult to work with is to treat oil-bearing waste water from cold-rolling plant. typical characteristics of waste water are: oil is in a state of emulsion, diameter of oil drips is below 1m. Commonly used treating methods for emulsion waste water from cold rolling plants of iron and steel enterprises are: ultrafiltration method, floating method of chemical emulsion breaking and air addition and electric floating method, which are hard to get ideal treatment result. A certain problem exists in practical applications; the oil content of water layer after treating is still higher, above 1000mgL-1,which will cause widen load and processing cost goes up if this kind of waste water gets into the wastewater system of factory directly. In the meantime demulsifying and aeration process still have such problems as excessive demulsifier usage, poor demulsification efficiency, perilous operation conditions in-site, severe pollution.
